User guide

Create a code

  1. Select a content type and enter its required fields.
  2. Choose Standard or Micro QR and configure appearance settings while keeping scan reliability in mind.
  3. Wait for the live preview to finish.
  4. Select an export format and download the validated preview.

Changing any field invalidates the previous download until the updated preview succeeds. Superseded preview requests are cancelled.

Content types

Website URL

Enter an HTTP or HTTPS URL. If the scheme is omitted, the application adds https://.

Location

Enter decimal latitude and longitude coordinates. Values with more than six fractional digits are rounded to six places, providing roughly 11-centimeter coordinate resolution.

Plain text

Enter up to 1,000 UTF-8 bytes. Text is preserved as entered.

WiFi hotspot

Choose Open, WPA/WPA2/WPA3 Personal, or WEP security and enter the network details. WiFi credentials exist only in the request and generated QR code; they are not stored or logged by the application.

WiFi payloads require Standard QR because even the shortest valid WiFi payload exceeds Micro QR capacity.

Digital business card

Enter a structured contact manually or import one UTF-8 .vcf file up to 64 KiB. Imports accept a single vCard 3.0 or 4.0 contact and populate the same editable fields used for manual entry. The source file stays in the browser; previews and downloads send only the resulting supported fields to the application.

The generated QR code contains a canonical vCard 3.0 contact. It can include a given and family name, mobile phone, email, company, work title, work phone, fax, one work address, and website. At least one name is required. Unsupported imported properties and extra values are omitted with an on-screen notice.

Files containing multiple contacts, unsupported vCard versions, legacy encoded values, or invalid UTF-8 are rejected. Split a multi-contact file and import one contact at a time. vCards require Standard QR.

Code formats

Standard QR is the default and supports every content and appearance option. Micro QR is an explicit compact format for short URLs, locations, and plain text. WiFi and vCard payloads require Standard QR. Payloads that exceed Micro QR's M4 capacity are rejected before download.

Micro QR correction can be Automatic, L, M, or Q. Automatic permits the smallest M1 symbol when possible and otherwise chooses the strongest correction level that does not increase the symbol version. Micro QR uses its required two-module quiet zone.

Appearance and logos

Dot modules require Q or H error correction. Logos require square modules and H error correction; selecting a logo applies those safe settings automatically. PNG and JPEG logos up to 5 MiB are accepted. Micro QR requires square modules and does not support logos.

Generated foreground and background colors must meet the application's scanner-safety contrast rules. Dark mode changes only the interface and never changes generated QR colors.

Exports

  • PNG supports transparent backgrounds and three digital scales.
  • JPG uses an opaque background.
  • SVG preserves vector QR geometry and can use transparency.
  • PDF provides physical symbol, page, orientation, margin, and caption controls.
